Library Rules

RULES & REGULATIONS

    1. Students and staff members should wear their ID cards while accessing the library.

    2. Students and staff members should follow the dress code policy of SSN Institutions.

    3. Students should maintain silence in the reading hall to enhance the ambiance of the library.

    4. Video recording, taking photos, playing video games, listening to music, and any such behaviors inside the library are strictly prohibited.

    5. Laptops, tablets, loose sheets, and notebooks are permitted inside the library. Personal books of the students and staff members are strictly prohibited.

    6. Students and staff members are requested to keep their mobiles in silent mode inside the library.

    7. Book search, book renewal, reservation, and checking overdue charges can be done through OPAC.

    8. UG and PG students are allowed to borrow 5 subject books and 1 general book. Research scholars and non-teaching staff members are allowed to borrow 3 books, and faculty members are allowed to borrow 5 to 7 books at a time.

    9. Library hours: 8.00 AM to 8.30 PM on regular working days and 8.00 AM to 3.30 PM on holidays.

    10. Library books can be renewed once every two weeks if there are no reservations.

    11. The books borrowed from book banks can be used until the end of the semester.

    12. A fine of Rs. 10 per day will be collected as overdue charges.

    13. Any dues, on the loss of books or damage found during physical verification, will be charged double the cost of the books, which will be deducted from the caution deposit.

    14. Reference books and journals cannot be borrowed. However, the textbooks from the reference section can be issued only for overnight use.

    15. Students and staff members must submit their ID cards while borrowing books for reference purposes.

    16. The users should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate, or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, they will be charged double the cost of the resource or fined accordingly.

    17. All students should obtain "No dues" certificate from the library soon after completing the course and before applying for a transfer certificate.
